Kingdom of Dunmoore
Teraxis grew up in a small hamlet at the edge of the local human kingdom. His surname, “Forest,” is indicative of his heritage, that of a bastard. His father is rumored to be one of the local earls, and his mother that of a house servant, but Teraxis knew neither as he was sold as a very young child into indentured servitude to a carpenter. And although he was an adequate carpenter, the great woods called to him and he frequently would spend his free time and evenings venturing through the woods and tagging along with the huntsmen. From them, he learned to fish, to track, to trap, to camp, to shoot bow and arrow, to hunt, and to use blade. It has been rumored that Teraxis learned the hymn of the birds and the speech of the wolves from the huntsmen, but such might also be the fancy talk of fairy tales.
Upon Teraxis’s eighteenth birthday, his carpenter-master informed him that his servitude had been paid off and Teraxis was free to leave the hamlet. The carpenter-master refused to explain any further details, and Teraxis was sent on his way to explore the great woods before him. He adorned himself with a great cloak made of wolf fur, strapped upon himself a short sword and bow (bow crafted by none other than himself), grabbed a satchel of provisions, and departed the hamlet in search of adventure. Travelers who come across him have commented on his hunting prowess, and his tendency to talk to Belle, a small rodent that Teraxis keeps as a companion and rests on his shoulders, although oddly none of these Travelers have actually ever seen Belle with their own eyes…
